WEDDING IN THE ICONIC PALACIO NACIONAL DE QUELUZ
LISBON. PORTUGAL
REED & SUERAYA
A Two-Day Wedding Celebration at the Most Iconic Venues in Portugal
This extraordinary wedding unfolded over two breathtaking days, each set in a location that perfectly reflected the couple’s story,
a fusion of cultures, elegance, and unforgettable moments.
Day Two was the heart of the wedding, a magnificent celebration at the iconic Palácio Nacional de Queluz, the most breathtaking palace in Portugal. This day was pure grandeur.
The ceremony took place with the palace as its backdrop, creating a scene straight out of a royal film - soaring architecture, golden details, and a sense of timeless beauty.
This was followed by an opulent dinner inside one of the palace’s most stunning halls, decorated with impeccable florals, candlelight, and refined details that transformed the space into a true masterpiece.
As the night unfolded, part of the celebration moved outdoors, where the atmosphere became vibrant and full of life. The couple and their guests honoured Afghan cultural traditions through music, dance, and emotional moments that made the evening truly unique. With the blend of Afghan heritage and American modernity, Day Two became a powerful and beautiful expression of a multicultural love story.
Two days, two worlds, one unforgettable celebration, a wedding that brought together culture, elegance, and the timeless beauty of Portugal’s most iconic venues.

THE VENUE
PalAcio Nacional de Queluz
Having photographed at Queluz many times, we can say there is no other venue in Portugal quite like it. The eighteenth century royal palace, with its rose and gold facade, opens onto formal Baroque gardens, sculpted hedges, fountains, and statues at every turn.
What makes Queluz extraordinary for a wedding is its range. The light stays beautiful across the whole day, and there is a setting for every hour, the grand facade, the manicured parterres, the quiet corners between the topiary, and the gilded halls inside. You could photograph here from morning to midnight and never run out of frames.
Inside, two halls stand out. The Sala dos Embaixadores, the mirrored Hall of Ambassadors, with its chequered marble floor, antique mirrors and painted ceiling, is one of the most striking rooms in Portugal for portraits. And the golden hall, all candlelight and gilded detail, made an unforgettable setting for dinner. The ceremony unfolded in the gardens, and the celebration carried on into the night against the illuminated facade. It is, quite simply, one of the most magnificent places to marry in Portugal.
Day One took place at Forte da Crismina
Overlooking the dramatic coastline of Praia do Guincho - one of Portugal’s most stunning beaches. Surrounded by ocean views and illuminated by a spectacular sunset, the evening felt both intimate and cinematic. Guests arrived in beautiful traditional attire, and the bride’s exquisite gown became a highlight of the night, blending modern elegance with cultural heritage.
It was the perfect beginning to a celebration that honoured both families and their traditions.

ICONIC PALACES
Palácio do Correio-Mor is an 18th-century estate just outside Lisbon, known for its ornate facades, frescoed halls, and grand courtyards drenched in peach and gold. Built as a private nobleman's residence and still privately held today, the palace opens to only a handful of weddings each year, by personal invitation alone.
As wedding photographers based in Portugal, we've come to know this palace intimately, every angle of its light, every quiet corner of its inner courtyards. To photograph here is rare. To photograph a Jewish wedding of this scale and tradition here is rarer still.
